Netflix Partners with a very good job To Curate Mailers for New Film “The Forty-Year-Old Version”
Founders of a very good job today announced its partnership with Netflix and director Radha Blank on the film The Forty-Year-Old Version, a story about a New York City playwright who finds inspiration by reinventing herself as a rapper.
The production and content house, founded by Crystal Anderson and Kiesh, produced and curated a customized a branded experience to promote the film. The film is a love letter to New York City and Hip-hop, and the agency created custom influencer boxes, bringing the story to life with tangible elements that speak to the experiences of the main character.
Each influencer box includes a vintage walk-man cassette player with a solid-gold cassette that includes the new single “The Mecca,” featuring Nas, Remy Ma, Dave East Styles P, Ghostface Killah and RadhaMUSprimenew, which was inspired by the film. The mailer also includes a 50-page illustrated adaptation of the film, made to resemble an old school composition notebook, featuring drawings of characters, still imagery, quotes and lyrics from the film’s score.
“To engage the influencer audience for The Forty-Year-Old Version, Netflix and I wanted to create a one-of-kind keepsake that felt like it jumped off the screen and into the hearts of these viewers. At the suggestion of my producer, Lena Waithe, we enlisted a very good job,” said Radha. “They are profoundly talented but most importantly, intuitive in creating a one of a kind experiences around a narrative. They are a creative’s dream.”
The influencer boxes have been well received and celebrated across social from notable celebrities including Ava DuVernay, Mara Brock Akil, Robin Thede, Chika, and Karlie Hustle.
In addition to its partnership with Netflix, a very good job has worked with SHOWTIME on the “The Chi is Why Series” for their hit show, The Chi. The agency has also worked with VERZUZ, ZOOM, and Hillman Grad Productions.
